Apprenticeship Scheme Success

- Tue 19 Jul 2016

It appears that apprenticeship schemes seems to have come back around again as being a very popular method of gaining valuable experience in an industry you are keen to develop your knowledge and skills within. So how does this work in Estate Agency?

We have been running an apprenticeship scheme since 2013. The scheme is designed to take people with no estate agency experience and develop them into excellent, all round sales and letting agents. Working closely with their apprenticeship provider, Positive Outcomes, since the outset because they provide specific NVQ’s in both Estate Agency and Property Rentals.

We have 5 employees who have completed their apprenticeships and are now employed on a full time basis. All are doing well and climbing the career ladder. One of the first apprentices to have joined the scheme in 2013, Tariq Al Khatib, has not only qualified with flying colours, but has now developed his skills of valuing properties and is competently providing many vendors with accurate and helpful advice. Tariq commented ‘I would recommend this scheme to anyone who is looking for a career in this industry having landed on my feet at Bradleys, who have a fantastic structure in place which enabled me to develop quickly. There is nothing better than advising a client on how best to achieve the best price for their home, then doing exactly that, followed by handing over the keys to a new homeowner upon completion. It’s such a buzz and feeling of genuine contentment.”

Employees who complete their apprenticeship successfully through us are guaranteed a full time job at the end and are actively encouraged to take further qualifications to enhance their skills and gain membership of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) with qualifications provided by their sister company the National Federation of Property Professionals (NFoPP) Awarding Body.

We currently have 12 members of staff at varying stages of their apprenticeships and have 2 vacancies; one in Exmouth and one in Plympton, available.
