We managed to raise more than £5,000 for Alzheimer’s Research UK

Following a year of fundraising we are pleased to announce that we has raised more than £5,000 for their charity partner Alzheimer’s Research UK, the UK’s leading dementia research charity.

Each of our branches have been challenging themselves to raise £300 as part of their Target 300 challenge for Alzheimer’s Research UK, their 2015 Charity of the Year.

Staff have been participating in spinathons, runs and an end of year raffle raising money which will be invested into researching much-needed dementia treatments, preventions and improved diagnosis.

Staff from the our Exmouth, Taunton, Brixham, Newton Abbot, and Honiton offices also signed up to the Devil Mud Run, an 8km obstacle race through the Gloucestershire countryside raising over £1,000.

Kai Logan, Group Marketing Manager, said:

“I really enjoyed getting involved in fundraising events for Alzheimer’s Research UK, particularly the Devil Mud Run which was a challenge.”

“I was so shocked by the statistic that one in three of us know someone with dementia and a lot of our staff were too. This really spurred on our fundraising efforts to help Alzheimer’s Research UK defeat dementia.”

We rounded off the year of fundraising with a raffle at their awards ceremony, which had top prizes of a luxury hamper and three-foot tower of sweet treats. The raffle raised a further £724 for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Yosra Osman, Corporate Partnerships Officer at Alzheimer’s Research UK, said: “Alzheimer’s Research UK are delighted that Bradley’s Estate Agents have raised more than £5,000 for us. This money will be able to fund vital research into dementia treatments and prevention.”

“There are 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK and with almost 14,000 of those in Devon alone, the need for research into defeating this condition has never been greater.”
