Estate Agents Do It for Dom!

- Mon 05 Jun 2023

Following a diagnosis of Huntington’s Disease back in 2017, Estate Agent, Dominic Subbiani was clearly shell shocked, as were his friends across the industry. Following the news, friend and property Queen, Suzanna Mavity, decided to arrange ‘something for Dom’ to show the support he has from across the industry. Do It for Dom was formed.

In 2018 the first event saw a group of over 50 people climb Snowdon and raise in excess of £70,000. The following year over 100 supporters canoed down the Rover Wye for 33 miles raising £75,000. With Covid having interrupted various plans for a third event, eventually this took place in May 2023 with the climbing up Mam Tour in the Peak District.

Over 100 property industry suppliers, estate agents and general supporters gathered the evening before ready for a 7.30am start.

Founding Director of Bradleys Estate Agents, Lyndon Bent (retired), took part in the event to represent Bradleys commented “Over 100 Estate Agents, Suppliers and guides descended on the pretty town of Castleton in the Derbyshire Peak District National Park last Wednesday night in preparation for a 7.30am start the following morning. It’s fair to say that some may have ‘Peaked’ a little early, but all were in good spirits for ascent to the top of Mam Tor on Thursday.

Once at the top we had a group photo (for those that hadn’t already fallen behind) and some great drone footage was shot showing the elation of all announcing, ‘We did it for Dom 2023’. Then the realisation that we still had two more Tors to tackle!!

The weather was fabulous with a cooling breeze making things generally quite bearable until approaching midday we hit the last cruel Tor where we were sheltered from the wind and the temperature rose for a brutally steep ascent to the summit!

At least the decent to complete the nearly 13 miles was in the direction of a delightful pub garden in the Hope Valley, where we caught out breath, waited and cheered on the stragglers. Back to Castleton then to prepare for the evening entertainment in a stunning farm location where a large three hat tipi had been erected to host a great Hog Roast, Bar, Disco, the Fundraising Awards, all of which helped us forget our aching limbs for a few hours.”

The current total raised in ‘Do It for Dom 2023’ stands at just over £70,000 with donations still being received. Anyone wishing to donate can do so by clicking here.
