Bigger Festive Bounce Predicted Than Normal!

- Wed 17 Dec 2025

The festive period brings together family and friends, which as a result often creates plans for the future, including that of moving home. This goes on to create a surge of activity online where people peruse property websites in their masses, creating a bounce effect.

Property website, Rightmove, has predicted a bigger bounce than normal due to the fact that their research highlighted that many people had held back in November before taking action due to the budget, in fact 20% of the 10,000 people asked confirmed they were holding off their moving plans.

Bradleys Estate Agents are running their Big Property Launch campaign which is designed to target this surge of activity by ensuring their new clients and any existing clients that are making their home more appealing will be featured in their latest mass marketing campaign.

Marketing Director at Bradleys, Kai Logan, commented “We see this surge of activity each year which continues in an upward trend into January and a whole new market of motivated buyers are actively seeking their next home in addition to those resuming their search. Our Big property Launch is designed to put the properties involved front and centre so that the wave of buyers have the best chance of finding the home right for them.”

Rightmove’s Colleen Babcock touched on their predictions for 2026: “With market conditions supporting higher levels of activity, and a hopefully more certain economic environment, we forecast a better year for price growth in 2026 with a strong rebound in activity to kick start the year,” and Rightmove is predicting average new seller asking prices will rise by around 2% in 2026.
