Bradleys 10km takes place in the spring sunshine

- Mon 04 Mar 2024

The perfect morning with a crisp start, clear skies and the sun shining, the scene was set with fantastic running conditions for the first Bradleys 10km race of 2024, along with the new little brother, the Bradleys 5k inaugural event. LM Events, the event coordinator had registered over 230 runners in the lead up to Sunday 3rd March.

Bang on 9am, the countdown started, and the race was underway. It was a close call for who was going to secure first position, with Michael Sandiford (Fordy Runs Running Club) managing to cross the line first in a time of 34.51, Christian Hewitt following very closely behind with only 30 seconds in between first and second place and Joel Seward (Axe Valley Runners) in third place in a time of 35.49. The first female to cross the finishing line was Debbie Burman (Torbay Tri Club) with a time of 40:38.

There was a team of runners participating from the sponsors, Bradleys Estate Agents. Budleigh Salterton Branch Manager, Robin Burne was the fastest over the line completing the course in 46.52, 1 second quicker than last year! Honiton Branch Manager, Joe Keep, completed the race in 51.40 over 5 minutes quicker than last year. Billy Clinch (Newton Abbot branch) finished in 52.14, Kai Logan and Kevin James in 58.06 and Lucy Lee in a PB of 1.05.57. The only 5km distance entry was Chairman, Brian Bradleys stepdaughter, Gillian, completing the distance in 33.17.

Bradleys Exmouth Manager, Lisa Findel-Hawkins commented “This proved to be another popular event to raise money for MND, which is so important. It was great to see so many runners smiling on their way around the course, Exmouth seafront has to be one of the finest backdrops for any run, particularly in the spring sunshine. The Bradleys 5 & 10km race wouldn’t be possible without all of the Marshals who volunteer their Sunday mornings, so a big thank you goes out to them as well as the organisers at LMEvents for another successful race…we are looking forward to the Autumn race already!”
