Brixham was buzzing once again over the Bank Holiday weekend (2nd–4th May 2026) as the town welcomed back its hugely popular Pirate Festival, drawing crowds of locals and visitors alike for another memorable celebration.

Despite a spell of wet weather on Saturday, the rain certainly did little to dampen spirits, with the harbour town alive with music, laughter, and a fantastic community atmosphere throughout the weekend. The much-loved event once again showcased everything that makes Brixham such a vibrant and unique place to live and visit.

One of the standout features of the festival was undoubtedly the incredible effort put into costumes. Embracing the pirate theme, attendees went all out with their outfits, bringing colour, humour, and creativity to the streets. From traditional seafaring attire to imaginative fancy dress creations, the costumes added an extra layer of fun and entertainment to the celebrations and were enjoyed by everyone watching on.

The event also provided a welcome boost for local businesses, with cafés, pubs, restaurants, and independent shops all seeing the town centre packed throughout the weekend. The atmosphere along the harbour and surrounding streets was electric, highlighting the strong sense of community spirit that continues to make Brixham such a special place.
