Bradleys Summer 5 & 10k Run Hits the Seafront!

On Sunday, 8th June, runners took to Exmouth’s seafront for the Bradleys Summer 10K and 5K races, hosted in partnership with LM Events. With a great turnout and clear skies overhead, the event brought together a brilliant mix of seasoned runners, first-timers, and enthusiastic supporters.

This year’s course started and finished at Sideshore – home to Hangtime Café – offering a flat and scenic route along the promenade towards Orcombe Point and back. The route provided the perfect backdrop for runners to enjoy the coastal views while taking on the challenge.

Both the 5K and 10K events saw fantastic energy and determination from all participants. Whether racing for a personal best or simply soaking up the atmosphere, every runner contributed to the day’s success.

The winner saw Michael Sandiford cross the line in just 33mins and 56 seconds, with the fastest lady, Molly Smith, finishing in third place overall in a time of 35 mins and 34 seconds. In the 5k race, Alex Sparks finished in 16mins and 09 seconds, whilst Tina Ashdown completed the distance in 23.03 to take the fastest lady’s time.

Lisa Findel-Hawkins, Branch Manager of the Exmouth Bradleys office, commented: “It was fantastic to see so many people come together to enjoy a morning of fitness and community spirit. A huge well done to everyone who took part – we’re already looking forward to the September race. I think when the sun shines like it did for this event, this must be one of the most scenic running events in the country and so we hope to see even more faces there later in the year!”
