Eight out of ten renters happy with their accommodation!

Official figures have revealed that more than 80% of private renters are happy with their accommodation – beating the rating for the social rented sector – a result which has been welcomed by those representing landlords.

According to the latest government’s English Housing Survey, 82% of private tenants are satisfied with their accommodation, compared with just 74% of those in properties owned by councils or housing associations.

The survey also shows that 76% of private renters were satisfied with the services provided by their landlord, compared with 64% of social sector tenants. The survey covers the period from 2022-2023.

Darren Ellis, Director at Bradleys Estate Agents commented “It is a positive news story that the majority of renters are happy with their accommodation, although we want to clearly build on that figure. We work with Landlords every day advising of the benefits of offering both comfortable accommodation and addressing any repairs as quickly as possible to ensure tenants enjoy being at home.

We have also seen where Landlords invest in their properties to improve the energy efficiency, tenants look to remain longer and potentially pay increased rent as they appreciate the savings whilst occupying the home.”

Bradleys Estate Agents offer sales and lettings services across Somerset, Devon and Cornwall and are contactable until 9pm, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day via their live chat service and tenants can report any issues 24 hours a day via their online reporting system.
