The prestigious annual event at Exeter Golf & Country Club, their Pro-am, was as popular as ever on Friday 6th June with 48 teams taking part, all competing alongside a professional from across the region to see who can score the most points. Perhaps more importantly, the hundreds of participants were also raising valuable funds for a chosen charity, this year being Hospiscare.
With the first groups off as early as 7.30am, running every 10 minutes until almost 4pm, the day was extremely busy for the organisers, sponsors and staff at the Exeter club. From raffles and silent auctions to putting competitions and even the chance to win £10,000 for a hole in one, the day was jam packed.
Exeter Golf Club professional, Darren Everett explained “We have been preparing for this event for months, from securing sponsorship to entertainment, but most importantly preparing the golf course, which is looking immaculate and playing really well. We are grateful for all individuals and companies involved and contributing to this event, it really has been a great success raising around £5,000 so far.”
Bradleys Company Director, Richard Greetham, added “We are proud to be one of the sponsors for the pro-am at Exeter and are delighted they have chosen Hospiscare as their charity, one that is particularly close to us at Bradleys. It was a great event, and whilst we didn’t win, we enjoyed ourselves and are really happy to hear how much the event has raised.”
