A recent article from Rightmove highlights February as the prime month for putting homes up for sale. With most agents arguing that every month is the best time to list properties, Rightmove has shown that the second month of the year is the optimum point of when homes have the best chance of gaining a buyer more quickly.

The comprehensive analysis conducted by Rightmove, which showed millions of property listings from 2012 onwards (excluding the anomalies of 2020), reveals February as the optimal time for sellers to enter the market.

The data showed: properties listed in February, on average, find a buyer within 51 days. This impressive turnaround is marginally quicker than those listed in March, which an average of 52 days, and is on par with January. A striking 66.4% of homes listed in February successfully secured a buyer, a figure that stands shoulder-to-shoulder with April, slightly edging out March's 66.3%.
