- Wed 20 Jan 2021

Following the recent news that the G7 summit meeting will take place in Carbis Bay near St Ives in June of this year, we asked for our local Branch Manager, Jon Harvey to give us his thoughts on the meeting putting Cornwall in the spotlight.

With 7 of the most powerful leaders from across the globe and potentially the leaders from Australia, South Korea, and India also invited by Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, due to meet it is felt there will naturally be an uplift in tourism and therefore a much-needed boost to the local economy.

Visit Cornwall have predicted as much as £50million could be gained to help the region recover from the pandemic that has caused so many businesses to struggle, particularly the tourism and hospitality sectors.

Bradleys St Ives Branch Manager, Jon Harvey, commented “I think it is fantastic news and a really positive message for the county and particularly for the St Ives area. We love where we live and I think this will put us on the global map like never before. We look forward to welcoming the likes of Joe Biden and the other leaders and would also be more than pleased to show them some of our properties if they happen to fall in love with the location, which I’m sure they will!”

Leaders from Canada, France, Italy, Japan, and Germany in addition to the UK and other representatives from the European Union, potentially joined by the other countries that have been invited will meet at the prestigious Carbis Bay Estate comprising; a luxury hotel, spa, and award-winning restaurant for the meeting that will discuss a range of topics including climate change, the coronavirus recovery, and other such matters.

If you are seeking a move in and around the St Ives area, Jon and his team would be delighted to hear from you. Please contact them through the website, telephone, email or their Facebook page.
