Get creative over the Jubilee Bank Holiday!

- Fri 27 May 2022

Thursday 2nd June, marks the official celebration for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. A memorable date in Queen Elizabeth’s reign in which the country will be celebrating her 70 years of service. Although the Queen will be celebrating by watching various parades and pageants, there’s plenty of patriotic fun you could get up to and we have put together a list of ideas for you and the whole family to get involved with!

  • 1 – Have a street party! This is the perfect time for your community to come together and celebrate. Gather tables in your cul de sac or street, you could dress in red, white or blue and all make something delicious to bring to the table like scones, jam and cream or traditional sandwiches.
  • 2- The official pudding of the Queen’s Jubilee is Jemma Melvin’s lemon Swiss roll and amaretti trifle, as she won the Queen’s pudding competition. Why not spend an afternoon making your own? Click here to see the recipe or if you would rather keep it simple, a classic Victoria sponge will go down a treat!
  • 3- Get creative and hand make some decorations to either feature on your table for a street party you may be attending or to hang up in your home. You could make some bunting to hang or flags to display over the long weekend of celebrations.
  • 4– It has been a long standing tradition to light beacons in order to mark significant royal celebrations and because of this beacons will be lit across the United Kingdom on the 2nd June to celebrate the Jubilee. Find out where your local beacon will be lit by clicking here.

We hope that whatever plans you have over the Jubilee weekend that you enjoy the celebrations. If you do decide to try any of the ideas listed above, please tag us in pictures on social media by tagging Bradleys Estate Agents.
