Hospiscare Race Off to a Speedy 2025!

- Wed 29 Jan 2025

The latest 40 Club meeting for Hospiscare was held at Raceworld, the indoor karting venue on the outskirts of Exeter, where they updated the members in attendance of the forthcoming events to raise vital funds, they need to continue providing their service in 2025 and beyond.

The charity which provides care for those with life-limiting illness across East Devon and Exeter from somewhere to go for advice and support, receiving support in your home from carers to attending their ward in Exeter where you can receive around the clock care.

With continued shortfalls in their funding organising events year-round is essential. Ellie Melmoth, Partnerships Manager, provided an update from 2024 and to announce the events coming up that Hospiscare require participants, volunteers and fundraisers in order to make them a success. Some of which include:

Mens Walk – 15th March: A 7-mile walk including a free pint, pasty and to watch some rugby for all genders despite the name.

Dartmoor in a Day – September 6th: A team building exercise with a difference! A 30km trek across Dartmoor, can your team finish first?

Kai Logan, Bradleys Group Marketing Director, was in attendance to hear about the plans for the year ahead and commented “It’s great to hear of so many varied events across the region for people to support this vitally important charity. As proud members of the 40 Club we are keen to help support where we can this year following a successful fundraising campaign in 2024. We look forward to working with the team at Hospiscare again this year and hope to get members of our team involved with as many events as possible to show our support.”

The event was held at Raceworld following the launch of last years Devon Business League karting competition where businesses raced against one another at various events t raise money for the charity. With such a popular response last year, they are growing the competition with a separate construction competition as well as various other businesses that has already nearly sold out of entrants. For more details on any of the events, you can visit the Hospiscare website and sign up or perhaps sponsor someone that does.
