With the Renters Rights Bill edging closer it has been reported by the National Residential Landlords Association (NRLA) there uncertainty around a few of the proposed changes. At the same time the NRLA reported confidence amongst landlords across England grew over the last 3 months.

The NRLA reported that almost 75% of landlords are concerned about the removal of section 21 evictions. There are many other important changes such as the removal of fixed term tenancies, the process that must be followed for rent increases, and the amount of rent that can be paid in advance to name a few.

As more information around the proposed changes is circulated, more landlords are starting to see the positives in some of the changes and working out how best to accommodate them.

Darren Ellis, Director at Bradleys Estate Agents, commented “We have received many enquiries from both our existing landlords and more-so private landlords asking to discuss the managing of their portfolio ahead of the changes to ensure they not only remain compliant but to take away the worry of ongoing concerns such as non-payment of rent, co-ordinating repairs and void periods. Our service will ensure all procedures follow the letter of the law in respect of the changes, we will communicate with all parties as they happen meaning Landlords can continue to enjoy their investment.”
