Late night shopping boosts cricket club fundraising

- Wed 14 Dec 2022

Shoppers and local businesses showed their support at Budleigh Salterton’s late night shopping event on Friday 9th December. Many gathered in our Bradleys Branch within the town to enjoy a mulled wine, minced pie and to raise funds for Budleigh’s cricket club.

Alongside our Bradleys Budleigh team, volunteers from the club we’re on hand throughout the evening to talk through the proposals for the new clubhouse. The night emphasised how fantastic new cricket facilities for the town will be and encouraged locals to take part in the ‘Buy a Brick’ campaign, part of the Big Six appeal which aims to raise £600,000 towards the project.

Marco’s Italian kindly donated a £100 voucher for all of those that have signed up to buy a brick and were entered into a draw. Club chairman Joel Murphy commented “A huge thanks to Robin, Davina and Jo at Bradleys for hosting the club for the town’s late night shopping event and to Marco’s for the generous donation of the £100 voucher, which really helped boost sales for the Buy a Brick campaign. These businesses and their staff have really helped the club engage with the community and spread the word about our project.”

Robin Burne, Bradleys Budleigh Manager commented “We thoroughly enjoyed having the office filled with festive cheer as well as excitement for the cricket clubhouse. Thank you to all of those that supported the ‘Buy a Brick’ campaign and joined us for a minced pie and mulled wine. From the Bradleys Budleigh Salterton Branch, we wish you all a very merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”
