Lockdown 3.0 inspires record number of home hunters!

- Wed 03 Feb 2021

As we emerge from the longest, darkest month of the year having spent the month locked down in the confines of our homes, it begs the question; what has everyone been doing? Well it appears more people than ever have been searching for a home!

It has been well publicised that more people than ever have re-evaluated their circumstances whether it was last spring during the first national lockdown or since then, resulting in more people than ever visiting property websites, including our own here at Bradleys Estate Agents.

Marketing Director, Kai Logan, analyses some of the more popular pages of the website; "With more time at home than most of us would like in January, we saw a huge increase in the volume of people visiting or website, even though the first week of January was quieter than usual, the visitor numbers exploded in week 2 setting new record after new record. We had some increasingly popular locations such as St Ives, Penzance, Sidmouth and Torquay attract masses of searches from home movers looking for coastal locations, whilst inland locations such as Taunton, Crediton, Liskeard and Callington saw a surge in popularity."

Kai goes on to comment on what other behavior proved popular "Other popular pages were the online valuation calculator that provides an estimated value of a home was more popular than ever, whether that was sellers and landlords planning a change or just being curious, we will see in the near future. Many of the guides to moving such as our first time buyers journey proved popular and the registration page for our database from both tenants and buyers alike. Various news articles proved popular, particularly from people who subscribe to our weekly newsletter.

Overall we can see that the appetite for people to move home or at least aspire to move in 2021 appears to be larger than ever and that the great British public always likes to keep in touch with the property market."

So what trends may be formed in February? Will it be more of the same? Perhaps we’ll see more people downsizing than upsizing? Regardless of the trend, for all things property related the Bradleys website is likely to be able to help you and if you prefer to speak to someone for advice, contact the local Bradleys team who will be happy to help.
