The sun was shining, the teams were gathered around the practice green at Vivary Park Golf Club for the Annual Round Table charity golf event held in Taunton, including a team from Bradleys hoping to feature on the leaderboard.
The Bradleys Team, who also sponsored a hole at the event, were certainly not seasoned golfers but were full of enthusiasm to try and compete with the 15 other teams comprising of local companies from in and around the Taunton area.
The Texas Scramble format meant that Bradleys only required one of the four to hit a good shot each time to be in with a chance at scoring some points. The team were further handicapped when Team Captain, Chris Baxter, suffered an elbow injury after the fourth hole leaving the three remaining players having to step up where possible.
With all teams having finished, Ben Slade, Partner at Maitland Walker Solicitors, along with Philip West from the Round Table announced the winners with the Bradleys team finishing a credible 5th place, the eventual winners were Cooper Associates, although it was very close.
Chris Baxter commented “we really enjoyed supporting the Taunton Round Table having helped raised hundreds of pounds today for local causes whilst also having some fun in the sunshine here at Vivary Park. I would like to thank Philip from the Round Table for his efforts today and all other parties that made today happen.”
The Round Table is a charity supporting local people and local charities and runs across the country with Round Tablers usually meeting once a fortnight or at least once a month for fun, friendship and making a difference in the local community.
