Some of our Bradleys Looe team take part in the Looe 10 miler!

- Wed 02 Mar 2022

On Sunday 27th February, the coastal town of Looe in Cornwall came alive with hundreds of runners taking part in the annual Looe 10 miler. This is 10 miles through West Looe out onto the coastal road to Talland. A loop around the Killigarth, Porthallow area bought the runners back down to Talland for the returning leg.

Ella Marshall and Beth Aldridge, from the Bradleys Looe branch took part in the 10 miler last weekend. Ella, Manager of the branch commented “The Looe 10 miler is a popular event that is organised by our local running club, it’s a great event with lots of friendly faces! Both Beth and I wanted to get back into running so decided to get involved. It’s basically 10 miles of hills, in total it was a 1,608ft elevation gain – they don’t call it hilly and hellish for nothing.”

“Whilst we weren’t at the front with the competitive runners we had a great time, thanks to the Marshalls and stewards that were cheering us on as the smiley Bradleys Girls. We also ran part of our race with my friend Phil who was doing the mad challenge of running the route for 24 hours to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity– he did amazingly running the route 8 times and finishing not long after us, raising over £1500. Ben & Chris in the office now feel left out and want us all to do it as a team next year – maybe next year we’ll be better prepared and trained”

Congratulations to all who took part and completely the mighty route! If Ella and Beth have inspired you to get your running shoes back on and you are local to the Exmouth area in Devon, it’s not too late to sign up to our Bradleys 10km race taking place on Sunday 6th March along Exmouth’s seafront.Click here to find out more about the event.
