It’s old news to those of us in the South West, and fairly obvious to many who know the region, that our region is now stated as the most desirable place to live. Rightmove has confirmed this by launching the ‘news’ this week following the results of almost 24,000 people completing a survey on their property website.
Boasting 6 of the top 10 locations, the West Country comes out on top, which is likely to be due to the stunning coastline with five of the locations being coastal; Woolacombe, St Ives, Padstow, Salcombe and Newquay. The one inland location, which came in at number 3 on the list, was Callington, which also provided the third lowest average house price of the top 10 at £235,000.
Nearly all the locations provided good value for money with the average house prices starting as low as £169,000, with no mention of any locations in the South East of England where the prices are much higher. The highest in the region was Salcombe which peaked at £635,000 with St Ives the 3rd highest at £366,000.
If that has whet your appetite to move, then you should get in contact with us as we are best placed to find your dream home.
