On Thursday 8th September a team from Bradleys took part in the Michelmore’s 5K charity run at Powderham castle. This charity run saw over 500 people come together in aid of the Charlie Waller Trust.
The Charlie Waller Trust is one of the most respected mental health charities, founded by the family of Charlie Waller who took his own life in 1997 whilst suffering from depression. The trust helps young people understand their own mental health, to equip them with the skills to be able to support themselves and those around them, and to empower them to talk more openly about the subject.
Chris Baxter, Bradleys Managing Director commented “It was a great evening out for our team to come together and run in aid of such a fantastic charity. The day started with high winds and heavy showers so we were all pleased to see the dark clouds clear and then a rainbow appear as we ascended on the starting line. Well done to all involved in organising a great event!”
Sadly, the news broke regarding Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II just after the race had begun. Before any prizes were handed out, runners gathered for a few moments of quiet reflection.
