It may not be a surprise to some that the region that the South West region appears top of the charts for the most cash buyers purchasing property with 37.9% of sales that completed over the last 12 months, according to analysis by My Home Conveyancing.
When you look at the reasons why this is the case, such as being a popular retirement location and being appealing for holiday home owners it doesn’t come as much of a surprise.
When analysing local authorities, the picture changes with Prime Central London (58%) and City of London (56%) unsurprisingly featuring near the top, however the number one authority goes to North Norfolk with a whopping 62.2% of all homes sold going to cash buyers!
East Devon appears highest in the South West with 53% followed by South Hams 51% and Dorset 50%.
Company Director, Richard Greetham from Bradleys Estate Agents, the region’s largest independent estate agent, commented “Whilst we do attract a fair proportion of cash buyers to our region it is absolutely pot luck as to whether a seller secures a cash buyer or someone that requires a mortgage or other funding options. We market our properties to the largest possible audience with the aim of securing the best price for our clients and hopefully to find a buyer their next dream home.”
