The sun shone for Sidmouth Wear A Hat Day Walkers

- Tue 29 Mar 2022

On Saturday 26th March, the seaside town of Sidmouth was buzzing with outstanding hats and people dressed in fancy dress swarming the seafront all in aid of Brain Tumour Research. Wear A Hat Day is an annual event that is put on in Sidmouth in order to raise vital funds for Brain Tumour Research, a charity close to many people’s hearts within the town as Charlie Gwillim and Charlotte Reid, two well know Sidmouth residents are currently patients.

Throughout Saturday, participants were asked to turn up at any time between 9am-4pm and collectively complete 1,560 lengths of the seafront by walking, jogging, skipping or skating whilst at each end collecting a sticker to note how many lengths they had completed.

Our Bradleys Sidmouth branch were proud to support the event throughout the day by Stephen French, branch Negotiator and Ben Morgan, branch Manager cheering all of the participants on as they complete their laps of the seafront, gathering donations in their fundraising bucket and handing out Bradleys branded tote bags.

The day was a great success and that wasn’t just because of the glorious sunshine all day! The Bradleys fundraising bucket alone raised £492 and the day as a whole rounded up to £2663.37. A bonus to this is the just giving page made the grand total amount raised so far £3263! It’s not too late to donate as much or as little as you can by clicking here.
