Having been postponed due to bad weather and extending the nerves, excitement and fear of jumping out a perfectly good plane a little longer, the event finally took place on Sunday 9th September at Perranporth airfield.
Laura Draper, a Negotiator in our Teignmouth branch, decided she wanted to raise money for this superb charity in their quest to fund a new helicopter. Laura explained “Cornwall Air Ambulance is entirely funded by donations and run over 800 lifesaving missions each year and regardless of whether you live in Cornwall or are visiting for a much needed break, you never know when you may require the help of the Air Ambulance.”
With good conditions set the jump took place and Laura experienced one of the most nervous but exciting experiences of her life. Laura said afterwards “Wow! I was so scared but once we were out the views were amazing and once I landed I almost wanted to go up and do it all again.
I would like to thank everyone who has supported me in my fundraising including all the people and businesses in Teignmouth.”
