Mundic Footing Solutions
The method is commonly known as: Twin-wall lining (also called structural lining or wall encapsulation) In technical terms, it may also be described as: Structural inner and outer leaf construction Concrete infill wall system Reinforced cavity wall replacement Permanent formwork encapsulation How it works A new inner wall is built inside the original mundic wall. A new outer wall may be built outside (if access allows). The cavity between them is filled with: Reinforced concrete, or Concrete blockwork tied structurally The new walls are tied into: Foundations Floors Roof structure The original mundic wall is effectively left non-structural. If it deteriorates, it cannot move or collapse because it is “sandwiched” and no longer load-bearing.
