As we are now nearly halfway through our 3rd year of being proud members of the Hospiscare 40 club, we wanted to share a roundup of the charity events we have successfully raised money so far for this vital charity!
Hospiscare is a charity that supports over 2,500 patients each year for terminally ill patients and their families across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. The 40 Club was created in 2022 when the charity reached their 40th anniversary, which provided the opportunity for 40 local businesses to commit to all raising a minimum of £1,000 each in a 12-month period.
In the first year of being a part of the 40 club in 2022, Bradleys were proud to have raised £1,444 and in 2023 we raised just over £1000. However this year we really wanted to make a difference by going above and beyond the £1000 target – and so we did!
Firstly, we kick started the year with a Star Wars themed cake sale, on Saturday 4th May in our Honiton branch. The cake sale was a great success with a total of £160.00 made on the day through our Just giving page and cash donations in local office. It was very well supported by the local community in Honiton and one resident even brought some bakery doughnuts in as well. Our second event of the year, and the biggest charity event yet was Bradleys Charity Quiz and bingo evening held at the Exmouth Railway Club on the 9th June. The evening kick started with the quiz, followed by three rounds of bingo and a raffle with over 60 prizes! At the event alone we raised just over £4,000! On Sunday 30th May, Joe Keep, Bradleys Branch Manager in Honiton jumped 15,000 ft out of a plane at SkyDive Buzz in Honiton in aid of Hospiscare and with Joe’s fundraising alone for his jump he successfully raised £884 leading up to the event! Lastly, we celebrated Bradleys 32nd Anniversary at the annual company BBQ at Bradleys Head Office in Exmouth where we played the game ‘splat the rat’ a simple tasks of hitting the rat dropped through a tube. Most participants described it as ‘frustratingly addictive’ and due to the heavy rain limited the amount it was played although still raised £86.80. The event and photos are available here: https://www.bradleys-estate-agents.co.uk/articles/32nd-anniversary-celebrations-at-bradleys-hq
We are over the moon to have smashed the target already this year, with a total of £5,135 raised for Hospiscare. If you missed out on any of our events above, make sure to follow all of our social media channels to keep up to date with or next charity events…
