First Round Win For Exeter At Palairet Competition

Exeter Golf and Country Club played their 1st round of the Devon Golf Palairet Trophy at Dainton Park against Staddon Heights Golf Club recently in their new club shirts sponsored by Bradleys Estate Agents.

Lyndon Bent (club Captain) and Darren Thorpe put a strong team out with plenty of experience and all players were heading into the event in form.

The matches got underway and were all extremely close throughout and the result could have swung either way. The final hole came down to a 12ft putt to win the match. With around 50 spectators around the 18th green Colin Papwroth managed to hole the putt, which gave Exeter a 3-2 win.

Congratulations to team who now face Torquay Golf Club at Dartmouth on Sunday 3rdJune.
