Friday the 6th July will see our Mutley Plain Branch Manager, Stuart Randalls, fly to Glasgow and make his way along with 6 others to the tallest mountain in the UK; Ben Nevis, to start the first of the Three Peaks challenge, with all three to be climbed in 24 hours!
Stuart has always supported the charity in question but after having been on a personal mission to lose weight, (an incredible 6 stone in a year), he wanted to take on a challenge that would help others. Stuart explained “I kind of fell into this by sponsoring my friend Kelly to do it and exclaimed it was something I will do next year and wished her good luck. She said why not take part this year as someone has dropped out and here I am!”
Hugs from Henry is a Plymouth based charity that supports families affected by childhood cancer, neuroblastoma from diagnosis, through treatment and post. The Hugs From Henry team aims to grow the charity to be able to support hundreds of families who are forced to deal with neuroblastoma across the United Kingdom.
Stuart and the group aim to climb Ben Nevis (1345 meters high) in about 4 hours starting at 9am Saturday morning and then drive to the Lake District to climb Scafell Pike (978 meters high) then drive to Snowdon in Wales (1083 meters high) to climb and descend the last of the three.
Whilst this daunting challenge awaits the 7 of them, they are all aware of the importance of raising some vital funds for the charity.
